Thermal power

In a thermal power plant components face harsh environment, which reduces their life. Some such areas include the coal handling plant, bowl mill area, boiler, steam turbine, process pumps, fans, chimneys etc.

Coal is abrasive in nature and presence of chemicals like Sulfur make is corrosive too, as a result, components that come in contact with coal in the coal handling plant deteriorate rapidly.

• Fine particles of coal in the bowl mill area cause erosion, abrasion and corrosion of components.
• Boiler tubes are subjected to high temperature erosion.
• ID fan impellers get worn-out due to fine particle erosion.
• Clinker grinder sleeves suffer heavy abrasive wear.

All the above and many other components are being protected with suitable thermal spray coating.
